Creative

Today my friends and I are going to Gabon for spring break. We made some calls and we got in touch with the Gabon soccer team, and we get to practice with them. The reason we want to practice with them is; they went to the nationals  three times and all three times they won. We have such a long trip to get there. We start her in America fly over to Morocco, then take a bus to Niger, then to Chad, through Cameroon and finally stop in Gabon.

After our long bus rides. We get there, I step down the three little steps I take a look around and I’m amazed. I was surprised to see little small huts all lined up in a row. I see little kids playing in the street. They kick the ball to me and I tap it back and smiled.

I tell the guys that we have 10 minutes to meet back here, so we can travel to the stadiums together. I go to the local food market and pick up some water and some spare food. And this kid came up to me and  asked me if I wanted to buy a paper, I said “yes” to help the kid out and I noticed on the front page was all about the TV show survivor. It was a note saying they are casting to see who will be on the show. I sprint back and call my friend and tell them times up.

Once I told my friends about it, they all asked me “Where do we sign up?”WE walk to the address and see that there aren’t that many people in line. We try out and we didn’t make it, we were so sad. After the show I go up to the director and ask him “why were we not picked?” And he replied, “We only put the sign up so people would recognize the show; the cast list was already full, but if you ask me if the list wasn’t full or friends and you would be in the show.” “Thank you!” I replied.

Drill

Gabon has alot of animals, but one stuck out at me. The Animal is the Drill. It is a small tailed forest baboon.  The Drill is an endangere species. It is found usually found in forest. It has a diet of fruit,  seeds, fungi, roots, insects and small animals. The Drill is semi-terrestrail, which means it mainly feeds on the ground. The Drills ussually live in groups of 20, including the male, several female, and their young.
In 1995 the Drill had the hieghest conservation priority among all other animals in Africa. Some hunters in Africa say that the group size and density is decreasing. From the 1970s- to 2004 they where endangered. In 1999 there were less than 3,000 left. They are now just coming out of endangered section.

Climate

Gabon has pretty much the most boring climate of all. The main climate is tropical. It is always hot in Gabon. And if you have allergies you should not go there becuasae it is extremely humid.

Sports

I think that the best sport in Gabon has to be futbol. Futbol is not what we think it it. Futbol is soccer, they use their feet snd not their hands. Gabon is very good at soccer. They are rivals with Cameroon and morocco. Gabon has reached the National Cup finals. Gabon won all three of their home fixtures in the previous round of 2010 qualifying but only picked up points against lowly Lesotho on their travels.

Languages and Religeon

Gabon people speak multi languages, they are: French (official), Fang, Myene, Nzebi, Bapounou/Eschira, Bandjabi. There aren’t many different religions but Christians are 55% to 75% of the population, and animist and Islam is less than 1%. Gabon’s Capital city and largest city is Libreville and the population is 661,600. Gabon has an Army, the Navy, the Air Force, National Gendarmerie, and the National Police.

Gabon's President

Only two presidents have ruled Gabon since their independence from France in 1960. One was El Hadj Omar BONGO Ondimba. He has the record of longest serving head of government in the world. He had his named changed from Albert-Bernard Bongo to EL Hadj Omar Bong, because he was converting to Islam. And the other president was Leon M’ba.
